‘Let Me Fix You’ Anime Removes Buta Productions & Pushes Back Release Date

The Let Me Fix You anime has officially been delayed. Now, fans of the dark yuri series are growing worried about the project’s future.

The Let Me Fix You anime was originally scheduled to begin streaming on YouTube in late May. However, the Let Me Fix You release date has now been pushed back to mid-June after a major production shakeup involving Buta Productions and co-founder Federico Antonio Russo, also known as FAR.

In a statement shared on the anime’s official X account, the remaining staff confirmed the project will continue without Buta Productions or FAR moving forward.

“After finishing our internal discussions, we decided that we will still publish whatever is already started and paid, but without Buta Productions or FAR involved anymore,” the statement read.

The staff also confirmed that the team around ani will continue working to finish the anime.

At the same time, the creators admitted the future of the project remains uncertain beyond the currently announced release.

Why the Let Me Fix You Anime Release Date Changed

The Let Me Fix You anime delayed its planned May debut after online allegations involving FAR began spreading earlier this month.

On May 2, an X user named Maryco (@Maryco02_) accused FAR of grooming in a now-deleted post. A few days later, on May 6, Maryco publicly stated she wanted to “formally retract” the accusations.

Even after the accusations were retracted, the controversy still caused major fallout behind the scenes. The anime staff explained they needed additional time to sort everything out. Because of that, the new Let Me Fix You release date moved to mid-June.

Anime News Network also reported that Buta Productions may no longer continue operating after the incident.

According to ANN, a representative responding through the company’s previously listed e-mail described the accusations as “partial, misleading and malicious.” The same response also claimed the studio would “stop existing” following the controversy.

Meanwhile, another X account representing former Buta Productions staff announced that several members reorganized independently under a new group called Ponbleu. The statement clarified that FAR is not involved with the new group.

The Let Me Fix You Anime Was Originally Planned to Be Bigger

The newest update also revealed that the currently announced anime may only be part of a much larger project.

In their statement, the staff behind the Let Me Fix You anime explained that future plans remain uncertain while they search for a new studio partner.

“The project was originally intended to be much bigger than what has been announced so far,” the statement explained.

That uncertainty has left many fans nervous about what happens after June. Interest in the series had already started growing steadily over the last few months.

The original manga by Sakura Kurihara mixes gothic horror, emotional drama, and yuri romance into one deeply unsettling story.

The series follows Tsumugi, a quiet seamstress who cares for Chise, a girl caught somewhere between life and death.

As Tsumugi literally stitches Chise’s body back together, the two slowly develop an emotional bond. The unusual mix of tenderness, horror, and romance quickly helped the series stand out among yuri fans online.

The manga gained even more attention earlier this year after BluPetal launched a crowdfunding campaign for an English-language release.

Now, fans are hoping the Let Me Fix You anime can survive the production chaos long enough to finally reach its audience.

The staff ended their statement by asking fans to continue supporting the project despite the setbacks.

“We’d like to take you along on this journey,” the post read, “and we’d be thrilled if you’d continue to support Chise and Tsumugi.”
