‘Delicious in Dungeon’ Season 2 Release Date Confirmed Alongside New Character Visuals

‘Delicious in Dungeon’ Season 2 Release Date Confirmed Alongside New Character Visuals

If you’ve been waiting to find out when Delicious in Dungeon is finally coming back, we have good news. We also have bad news, because apparently patience is on the menu.

The Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 release date has officially been set for October 2027, with the series returning to Netflix worldwide.

Yes. 2027.

So, unfortunately, we still have about a year to wait before we can rejoin Laios and the rest of our favorite dungeon-crawling weirdos.

The October 2027 premiere window was originally announced during TRIGGER’s Anime Expo 2026 panel in July, along with an “ultra teaser visual” for the upcoming season.

Now, we’ve gotten another little taste of what’s coming.

New Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 Character Visuals Revealed

New character visuals for Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 were revealed on October 23, giving us a fresh look at four returning characters: Falin, Kabru, Mithrun and Thistle.

The new artwork includes full character visuals as well as adorable mini versions of each character.

Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 Release Date

It may not be a full trailer, but considering how long we have until the new season actually premieres, I’ll take the crumbs where I can get them.

And these four characters are a pretty interesting group to highlight considering where Season 1 left us.

When Is Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 Coming Out?

Here’s what we officially know right now:

Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 will premiere worldwide on Netflix in October 2027.

An exact release date within October has not been announced yet.

Season 2 will once again be produced by Studio TRIGGER, with Yoshihiro Miyajima returning as director. Kimiko Ueno returns for series composition, Naoki Takeda for character design and Yasunori Mitsuda for music.

Season 2 was initially confirmed all the way back in June 2024, immediately following the 24th and final episode of the first season.

So yeah, this has been a bit of a wait.

Why I’m Actually Really Excited for Season 2

I went into Delicious in Dungeon not really knowing what to expect, and I ended up loving it.

I watch a ridiculous amount of romance anime, so I’m very accustomed to getting 12 or 13 episodes before a show pats me on the head and tells me to come back later.

Getting 24 episodes in the first season of Delicious in Dungeon felt like a freaking feast by comparison.

It was also just such a nice change of pace.

The series manages to be genuinely funny without making the characters themselves feel disposable. Laios and his party are weird, lovable and occasionally completely unhinged, and somehow a show about adventurers cooking monsters they find inside a dungeon turns into something with a surprisingly interesting world and story behind it.

The only problem?

Season 1 ends without really ending.

I won’t spoil the finale for anyone who hasn’t finished it yet, but there are some pretty major things left unresolved. It definitely feels more like we stopped in the middle of the story than reached a satisfying conclusion.

That made the Season 2 announcement especially welcome, because I need answers.

Preferably answers accompanied by Senshi cooking something that absolutely should not be food.

What Will Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 Be About?

Without wandering into manga spoilers, Season 2 should continue directly from the unfinished storylines left behind by Season 1.

And there are plenty of them.

Season 1 started with what sounded like a relatively straightforward mission: Laios and his party needed to venture back into the dungeon to rescue his sister, Falin, after she was eaten by a dragon.

The lack of money and food led to Laios suggesting the solution that ultimately became the entire premise of the series: eat the monsters they encounter along the way.

Things became significantly more complicated from there.

By the end of Season 1, the story had expanded far beyond figuring out whether a basilisk would taste good with the right seasoning. There are much larger questions surrounding the dungeon, its inhabitants and several of the characters we’ll see returning in Season 2.

The newly released visuals featuring Falin, Kabru, Mithrun and Thistle certainly suggest those unresolved storylines will remain important when the anime returns.

Is There a Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 Trailer?

Not a full Season 2 trailer yet.

TRIGGER released an ultra teaser visual when the October 2027 premiere window was announced, and we now have the newly released character artwork, but we’re still waiting for a proper look at Season 2 in action.

Considering the premiere is still roughly a year away, there’s plenty of time for additional trailers, visuals and casting news to arrive.

We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.

Where Can You Watch Delicious in Dungeon?

The complete 24-episode first season of Delicious in Dungeon is currently available on Netflix, and Season 2 is also scheduled to stream worldwide on Netflix when it premieres in October 2027.

If you haven’t watched it yet, you have plenty of time to catch up.

And if you have?

Well.

We wait.

Hungry.

For an entire freaking year.
