Vampire Dormitory is one of many new animes currently dropping weekly episodes via Crunchyroll. The series is available with subtitles or with an English-dubbed audio track. The dubbed episodes are currently airing on a schedule two weeks behind the episodes with subtitles. Once you hit the massive cliffhanger in Episode 7 it becomes a bit difficult to wait for the dubbed versions of Episode 8 and Episode 9 to release.
What exactly is Vampire Dormitory about? Is this an anime series you should stream or skip? Keep reading as Mom Unfiltered gives you the scoop on this new series.
What Is Vampire Dormitory About?
The series almost immediately feels like a weird cross between Ouran High School Host Club and Vampire Knight. The main character’s life is just about as depressing as it could possibly get. She, discovers early on in the show that life is easier for her if she cross-dresses and pretends to be a guy. A series of events unfolds and eventually, she ends up as a student at an all-boys school.

A few of her classmates end up falling for her (not realizing she’s a girl). So, she has them actively questioning their sexuality, which is a fun little story arc to enjoy.
Vampire Dormitory is about a girl named Mito who lives on the streets disguised as a boy and becomes involved with a vampire named Ruka. After Ruka saves Mito from danger, he offers her a deal: she can live with him in the boys’ dormitory if she becomes his thrall and allows him to feed on her whenever he wants. Mito must then hide her secret from the other vampires who live in the dorm.
Stream Or Skip?
Presently, I find myself looking forward to the drop of a new episode of this series each week. The plotline starts to get pretty intense by Episode 7. I started out initially watching the dubbed version but abandoned it when Episode 7 ended on a cliffhanger that I couldn’t wait a week to see play out. I will say that Episode 9 does pretty much the same thing (massive cliffhanger). Be prepared for the series to get a bit weird when Episode 9 ends. The show will take a surprising twist and the plot upheaval may frustrate some viewers.
So, what’s the verdict? At this moment, based on the content in the episodes already released, I would recommend streaming this series. That, however, could change depending on how the next few episodes play out. (Episode 9 was incredibly frustrating, full transparency).
Presently, Mom Unfiltered does recommend this as one worth streaming.
