Originally part of the Winter 2023/2024 season, the workplace romance series Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! came out in January 2024. At first, only the English Sub version was available. Since then, that’s changed in a big way for anyone who prefers to watch in English. The full Cherry Magic English Dub is now available to stream. What is this series actually about, and where can you watch it? Let’s get into it.

Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! English Dub: Where to Stream

Crunchyroll News confirmed that the Cherry Magic English Dub dropped in July, and you can stream both the English Sub and English Dub on Crunchyroll.

This is great for anyone who likes romance anime but struggles with subtitles or just prefers listening in English. The dub gives you another way to experience the characters’ chemistry without constantly reading the screen, which is especially nice with a dialogue-heavy office romance like this.

What Is the Series About?

We Got This Covered calls Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! one of the standout BL romances on Crunchyroll. And honestly, that’s fair. Crunchyroll has picked up a lot of really good BL titles lately, including Given, Tadaima Okaeri (Welcome Home), Sasaki & Miyano, and Twilight Out Of Focus, which is airing new episodes weekly.

The premise sounds wild, but it works: in this world, if you make it to age 30 without having sex, you “unlock” magical powers. Specifically, you gain the ability to hear someone’s thoughts just by touching them.

The story follows Adachi, an anxious, painfully shy office worker who turns 30 and suddenly has the power to read minds. He’s not social, he doesn’t think of himself as special, and honestly he would rather melt into the carpet than be noticed by anyone at work.

Then it gets complicated.

Adachi accidentally brushes against a male coworker, Kurosawa… and hears his thoughts. Not just casual thoughts. Romantically interested thoughts. Intense, sincere, “I’ve been in love with you for a while” thoughts.

From there, things escalate. Adachi and Kurosawa end up working late together. They spend more time alone. Adachi keeps catching Kurosawa’s thoughts every time there’s skin contact, so he can’t exactly pretend he doesn’t know how Kurosawa feels. It’s sweet, it’s awkward, it’s wish-fulfillment, and it’s also surprisingly gentle and respectful.

For a lot of BL fans, this is a big deal. A huge part of the appeal is that Cherry Magic doesn’t lean on high school settings or teen drama. The characters are adults with jobs, burnout, insecurities, and very real “am I lovable?” anxiety. If you’re tired of high school romances and want something softer and older, this is that comfort show.

Will There Be a Season 2?

As of now, there hasn’t been any confirmed news about a Cherry Magic Season 2. Based on how Season 1 ended, the odds of a direct continuation aren’t super high.

The general consensus from fans is that Season 1 wraps up in a really satisfying way. Adachi and Kurosawa’s relationship gets the attention it deserves, and the finale feels complete instead of like a cliffhanger. So while most viewers would absolutely watch more, especially to see how their relationship grows long-term, the story they told in Season 1 does feel finished.

That said, “finished” doesn’t always mean “we don’t want more.” A lot of people still want to spend more time with these characters, even if it’s just little updates on how they’re doing as an actual established couple and not just two people tiptoeing around each other in an office.
