About Me
Hi, I’m the sarcastic, anime-obsessed mom behind MomUnfiltered — your friend who will absolutely text you 35 times at three in the morning because I’m stressed, and then laugh about it anyway. Sometimes I laugh at the most inappropriate times, but honestly? Things are just easier when you can find something funny in the middle of the chaos.
I like to think of myself as that background anime mom you notice in shows like Erased, Horimiya, or Fruits Basket — the one who doesn’t have it all figured out, but who still has her own personality, quirks, and story to tell.
From Lost to Unfiltered
For a long time, I disappeared into being “just mom.” My life was about my kids, my husband, and my responsibilities, and somewhere along the way, I forgot who I was. One of my children is on the autism spectrum, and his needs became a defining part of my daily life. While I wouldn’t trade being his mom for anything, it came with challenges that made it nearly impossible to hold down a traditional 9-to-5. Job after job slipped away, leaving me frustrated and feeling stuck.
Eventually, I realized I needed to build something that worked for me. I’ve always had a love for storytelling and writing, but for years I used that talent to help other people. I was a huge part of building someone else’s site, which didn’t end well for me.
After that, I made the decision with a friend to build a site together. I don’t regret it and I’m still working on it, but there’s always been this feeling of dread because everything is in her name. In a way, it was like a safety net for me — I was scared to succeed or fail on my own. Then one random morning, I just woke up and said, “screw it.” I registered a domain for two years and started this site. Later, I casually told my husband on the phone, “Oh by the way, I did a thing… hope you’re not upset.” His response? Basically, “Well, you already did it.” That’s my husband in a nutshell — he wouldn’t be mad if I brought home ten penguins, he’d just be annoyed that now he has to build them an enclosure.
And that’s how MomUnfiltered was born.
The Imperfect Mom
Here’s the truth: I’m not perfect. I’m the mom who cancels plans last minute or shows up late with a shrug and says, “autism,” because honestly, that’s the only explanation I’ve got. I’m the mom people text but don’t always invite out. And yet, I’m also the mom who jumps on Roblox with my daughter and plays for hours. I’m the mom who started uploading random gaming videos to TikTok because my kid thought it was cool. And yes, I’m the mom who gets messages from other teens saying, “I wish my mom played Roblox with me.”
I may not be the mom who always has it together, but I’m the mom who shows up where it matters. And I’ve learned that’s more important than fitting someone else’s version of “perfect.”
Anime, Side Hustles, and Unfiltered Truth
This site is my little corner of the internet where I get to blend everything I love: anime, side hustles, and trending news. Here you’ll find:
- Unfiltered anime reviews and recommendations (yes, including which characters I’ve already claimed as my next anime boyfriend).
- Honest side hustle reviews and money-making tips, because I’ve tested enough apps to know what’s worth your time.
- Commentary on trending stories and internet culture, because moms deserve to be part of the conversation too.
At the end of the day, MomUnfiltered is about showing that moms can love their kids fiercely, create an income from home, and still swoon over anime men on the side — all without apology.
Why I’m Here
If you’ve ever felt like motherhood swallowed up the “you” in your life, I get it. I’ve been there. This site is proof that it’s okay to rediscover the things that light you up — whether that’s anime, gaming, writing, or finding ways to make life work on your own terms.
So stick around. Read, laugh, and maybe even find a side hustle or anime obsession of your own. I promise it’ll be messy, funny, and unfiltered — just like me.
